JAVA/ANDROID DEVELOPER - 2 WEEK CONTRACT - £400-£500/DAY - OUTSIDE IR35 - FULLY REMOTE
If you are a skilled Android/Java Developer who's looking for their next role then I have the perfect opportunity for you.
My clients are currently seeking a Java/Android developer to come in for 2 weeks and resolve a variety of bugs that are causing issues on their client-facing system.
The system is made up of a CMS (developed in PHP), and an app built in java/android that sits on an android screen.
The CMS pushes a variety of content types down to the app (including video, touch etc), which then displays that content on the android screen. The java app sends information back to the CMS so that it knows it's online and functioning correctly, we call this heart beating.
Some of the problems we currently face are:
Heart Beating:
The heart beating isn't functioning correctly. The app keeps timing out and therefore will only heartbeat once a day rather than every 30 mins!
Rebooting:
Issue 1:
We used to have the capability of rebooting the device from both the device and remotely from the CMS. This functionality has stopped working.
Issue 2:
The device should reboot itself every morning at 0:01. This only works if the device is connected to the internet. This should work if the device isn't connected to the internet also.
