Our client is seeking a dedicated IT Support Assistant to join their IT team on a full-time, permanent basis. Our client strongly emphasizes the significance of maintaining a robust IT infrastructure, and they have consistently invested in this area.

Role Overview:
As an IT Support Assistant, you will collaborate with the IT Manager to provide network and desktop support, contributing to ongoing development projects across our client's organization and branch offices. Your primary responsibilities will include resolving queries and issues for lawyers and support teams, covering a range of topics such as laptop and desktop hardware, phone systems, Windows, servers, mobile phones, and more.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in IT Support or IT Administration roles.
  • Proficiency in the following areas:
  • Microsoft 365 and Office 365, including associated applications.
  • Microsoft Teams administration.
  • Windows Desktop Operating systems.
  • Microsoft Server 2016 and onwards administration.
  • Installation and maintenance of Desktops, Laptops, and Servers.
  • Exposure to and knowledge of Virtualization environments.
  • Enterprise WiFi administration.
  • Local and cloud-based backup systems.
  • Systems security.
  • Understanding of network infrastructures.
  • Additional knowledge in the following areas is advantageous:
  • Linux Servers administration.
  • Firewall Administration and connectivity.
  • VOIP telephony administration.
  • Administration of MS SQL.
  • MDM and mobile device setup/admin.
  • Email Filtering.
  • RMM/MSP software.

Key Responsibilities:
To excel in this role, you must possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills, enabling you to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business. You will also collaborate with external third parties, such as suppliers and support entities, to resolve any issues that may arise.

Working Hours:
The standard working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a one-hour lunch break. However, there may be occasional requirements to work outside of these hours. The position will be primarily based at our client's head office in Walsall, but travel to their other sites in Sutton Coldfield and Cannock will be necessary. Access to your own transportation is essential for this role.
