Role: Data Scientist

Salary: £75-90k

We are looking for an experienced and driven Scientist to join an exciting, innovative, and growing investment management company in London. specialising in pension pooling, my client is focused on long-term investment as well as in-house asset management for their clients. This will be a hybrid role where you will attend on-site 2 days a week at their office based in London.

In this role, you will be supporting and representing the Investment Team in sourcing, transforming, and analysing large sets of alternative and unstructured data to produce analysis, insights, and presentations in a variety of programming languages and applications. This will provide the investment teams with insights to support informed investment decisions and reporting.

Some of the Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Investment Teams to build an appreciation of the quantitative and qualitative aspects that play an integral role in the monitoring of direct assets and delegate fund managers.
  • Develop an understanding of the Investment Management process and data analysis requirements across the asset classes and governance structures that need to be supported
  • Work with the CIO & Chief of Staff to ensure all solutions are in line with the broader objectives for the Investment Team
  • Create analysis, presentations and dashboard reporting in a variety of programming languages and applications

Requirements for this position:

  • Strong technical knowledge with experience working in or supporting investment teams across public and private market asset classes in delivering data insights/analysis solutions
  • Ability to manage, influence and prioritise across multiple workstreams to ensure successful and timely outcomes.
  • Programming experience in one or more of the following: Python, R, VBA, SQL
  • Strong proficiency in Tableau and Excel
  • Relevant degree subject (Maths, Statistics, Data Science, or another Science related subject
  • Excellent communication and analytics skills.
